Location and Local Area The cottages are on the south edge of Horncastle and the centre of town is within walking distance. The original farm buildings were built by Lincolnshire soldiers returning from the WW1.  They were converted into milking parlours in the 1960s.  Horncastle a good location to explore Skegness and the East Coast, The City of Lincoln and the Market Towns of Boston and Sleaford.  Also nearby are: Horncastle for antique centres, pubs, independent shops and small cafés/coffee shops.  The Viking Way is a must for walking enthusiasts. Cycle path and walk way to Woodall Spa via old railway line (it is possible to cycle to Lincoln along the old railway line). Historic Woodall Spa with its famous ‘Kinema in the Woods’, championship golf courses and the Petwood Hotel (former Dambuster Squadron Officers’ Mess). Coningsby and Tattersall are close by; home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with flying Lancaster, spitfire and hurricanes, Tattershall Castle and Tattershall Country Park. East Kirkby Aviation centre is the home of ‘Just Jane’ Lancaster and aviation museum. Lincolnshire Wolds; an area of outstanding natural beauty and ideal for walkers and hikers. Louth is a small market town in the heart of the Wolds with independent shops and cafés. There are many country pubs and restaurants in the area.
